One of the best ways to support us is to host your own fundraiser. This gives you the chance to tell your friends and family why abortion access is an important issue for you. We’ll happily support your house party, happy hour, Twitter/Facebook fundraiser or benefit concert.  Be creative! Whether you collect $20 in lieu of birthday gifts or raise $2,000 at a giant neighborhood yard sale – every cent helps! 

Create a Fundraiser on Facebook or Instagram

Facebook and Instagram fundraisers are one of the easiest ways for folks to raise money for AFO while also tracking how much you have personally raised. As an added bonus, Facebook/Instagram will cover the transaction fees, meaning more of your fundraising actually makes its way to us! Here's how to set up a personal fundraiser for us:

Facebook:

1. Log into Facebook, and head either to our profile page (@AbortionFundofOhio) or directly to our fundraising link https://www.facebook.com/fund/AbortionFundofOhio/
2. If you go to our profile, you will then need to click the "Fundraisers" tab under our profile picture. From there, just click "Raise Money"
3. Now, you'll get to pick your fundraising goal, end date, title, description of fundraiser or WHY you want to raise money for abortion access, and a cover photo.
4. Finally, click "Create," and from there, you'll be taken to your dedicated fundraising page! You can share that page's link directly to your Facebook feed, send it to friends, or post it elsewhere. Congrats, now anytime someone donates to your fundraiser, Facebook will automatically track donations and route funds to us without management on your end or ours! 

Instagram

1. Log into the Instagram app (not available on desktop), and head to our profile page (@AbortionFundofOhio)
2. At the top of our page, click "Support" located under our bio. From there, just click "Create Fundraiser"
3. Now, you'll get to pick your fundraising goal, any collaborators, title, description/WHY you want to raise money for abortion access, and a photo. Note: Instagram fundraisers default to 30 days, but you can edit it to end at any time.
4. Finally, click "Share Fundraiser," and from there, it will automatically display your fundraising in your bio. You also have the option to share it directly to your feed! Like Facebook, Instagram will cover all transaction fees & logistics of sending donations to us.

If you let us know in advance, we may be able to help with the following*

• Develop language
• Provide AFO materials
• Schedule speaker(s) on behalf of the organization
• Promote your fundraiser on social media

*Please note: Following the Dobbs decision, we have extremely limited capacity. If possible, we will certainly retweet/share your fundraiser info on our pages & direct you to our most recent resources. However, we're a tiny staff & our focus right now is helping callers and getting info out to as many folks as possible online. 

You can also create your own page on our website and make a goal your friends and family can help you meet. Sign into our page (the top right side of the website) and create a public profile, you can then fundraise through that page and track how much you've raised!
